Service 02 · HV Assessments

HV Competent Person assessments, delivered on your project.

We act as HV Competent Person and Authorised Person for UK rail HV projects — carrying out the assessments needed to isolate, permit and safely deliver high-voltage work, backed by a documented evidence trail.

This is a business-to-business service.

HV assessment work is commissioned by rail companies and contractors delivering HV project work. It is not a service that an individual worker books for themselves. If you're an individual looking to be placed on rail work, please see Labour Supply instead.

What we deliver

HV Competent Person and Authorised Person assessments, on the project.

Two related pieces of work, both carried out as part of delivering the project itself. As HV Competent Person, we carry out the practical assessment and sign-off needed for high-voltage work within scope. As Authorised Person, we hold formal responsibility for isolation, permits and safe systems of work on live infrastructure.

HV Competent Person

Practical HV assessment and sign-off, carried out as part of delivering the project.

Authorised Person

Formal responsibility for isolations, permits and safe systems of work.

Documented outcome

A record of every assessment, with the underlying evidence retained.

Audit-ready pack

Structured so your compliance team can rely on it in an external audit.

How an engagement runs

From scoping to a completed evidence trail.

  1. 01

    Scope

We agree exactly what's being assessed on the project — which systems, which sites, which permits — and what a good evidence pack looks like at the end.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Site context, isolation boundaries, existing permits and project records reviewed before anyone steps onto site.

  3. 03

    Assess

The HV Competent Person / Authorised Person assessment is carried out on-site, against the relevant criteria for the work being done.

  4. 04

    Evidence

A documented outcome for the work assessed, with the underlying records, so your own audit trail stands up on its own.
